AmeriHealth Caritas Partners with Medical Guardian to Enhance Member Safety, Health, and Preventive Care with Personal Emergency Response Systems
Philadelphia; August 1, 2025 – AmeriHealth Caritas today announced a partnership with Medical Guardian to provide personal emergency response systems (PERS) to members of their Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans (D-SNP) in Delaware, Florida, and South Carolina as of January 1, 2025. This new benefit is designed to enhance member health by increasing access to preventive care and emergency support, helping members stay engaged in their health journey and connected to essential resources.
Medical Guardian’s two-way cellular-connected PERS devices will offer AmeriHealth Caritas members 24/7 emergency response along with tools for day-to-day health management. These devices provide personalized updates, check-ins, and preventive care notifications, making it easier for members to take proactive steps in managing their health. Key features include real-time health screening, preventive care appointment reminders, and fall risk monitoring —helping members to close gaps in care, maintain their independence, and improve overall well-being.
“This partnership reflects our commitment to equipping members with benefits that increase access to care and make it easier to stay on top of their health,” said Christopher McDade, President of Medicare Markets at AmeriHealth Caritas. “With Medical Guardian’s devices, we’re providing our members with a simple way to engage with preventive care while ensuring they always have 24/7 emergency support when they need it.”
“Technology plays a critical role in transforming health care by improving engagement and meeting members where they are,” said Geoff Gross, Founder and CEO of Medical Guardian. “We’re proud to partner with AmeriHealth Caritas to deliver innovative tools that help members stay safe, connected, and proactive about their health.”
