When purchasing a medical alert necklace, you can add-on automatic fall detection technology. Our devices use triaxial accelerometers, which measure vibrations in three areas of your body: at your waist, head to toe, and posterior upward. If your device senses an abrupt change in movement, it will activate the fall detection alert. This can also happen if you drop your device, which may cause a false alarm. But don’t worry, false alarms are expected and cancelling a false alert is easy. Simply tell the operator you do not need help. Because automatic fall detection does not catch 100% of falls, you should always push your help button after a fall.
